Sesame Street Live

We went to see Sesame Street Live last weekend with Mackenzie and her best friend Skyler! The girls had so much fun together! Mom was able to get us the box seats for her company so we had great seats. The girls would see Elmo on stage and yell to him, and then just laugh and laugh together. The show was really neat and Mackenzie was so excited to see Elmo, Big Bird, and Cookie Monster!

Lulu's Tea Party

We went to a Mother/Daughter tea party at Lulu's nursing home today! It was very nice and had lots of yummy food! Mackenzie was so excited to see Lulu...the whole way there she was asking for her! After we had our snacks and tea, Mackenzie took Lulu for "a walk." She pushed Lulu's wheelchair (with some help) back to Lulu's room:) When it was time to go, without prompting, she ran over to Lulu and gave her a big hug and said "Bye Lulu!"

Outer Banks Pictures #2

Outer Banks Pictures

Another trip to the beach

We had a family vacation to the Outer Banks last weekend. This time we went with Daddy's family for a long weekend to Nags Head. We had so much fun! We went to an aquarium, The Wright Brothers site, and the lighthouse at Cape Hatteras. Mackenzie liked the touch pool at the aquarium again, but wasn't really into the rest of it. She was able to see another shark, but seemed to be more excited that her cousin Mia was there:) It was so neat to see the lighthouse up close! Because of the park rules (and that I said no to her going up)she stayed down on the ground with me, Grandma and Mia. Uncle Chris, Aunt Jamie, Daddy and Grandpa all climbed to the top. When she saw everyone waving at her she kept saying "I see Daddy up top!"

1st Beach Trip

Mackenzie had a blast during her first beach trip! She went with all of Mommy and Daddy's friends to "Auntie" Marie and "Uncle" Charlie's beach house. While the boys tore down one deck, and then built a new one, we went to the aquarium and of course, did a little shopping! She had so much fun with Auntie Marie at the aquarium! They splashed around in the touch pool, and played with a horseshoe crab.

We only made it out to the beach Sunday morning while the guys finished up their project. Mackenzie loved digging in the sand and looking for shells. The only part she didn't like was when she left her bucket a little to close to the water, and the wave came in and took her bucket away. After that she said "I go Marie's house now!"

Happy 2nd Birthday Mackenzie!

Happy Birthday Mackenzie! We had a great day yesterday, celebrating her birthday! First we went to the Build-A-Bear workshop at the mall, and made a new Big Bird doll! Mackenzie had so much fun in the store....it was hard to get her out! But, I told her that her friend Skylar was going to meet us for lunch, and she took off! We then had Boo's favorite....french fries for lunch with Skylar, Greyson, and Wendy. After the mall, and a much needed nap, Daddy was finally able to come home from work. We took Boo out for pizza for dinner....and she ate almost an entire slice! We then came home and had cupcakes....Boo was only into the icing:) After that, Daddy took Boo on a bike ride on her new bike! Wow....what a great day!

Playground with Skylar

Last week, the weather was so nice, that we went to the park 2 times with our friends Wendy and Skylar, and Skylar's new little sister Greyson! The girls have such a great time playing together. Hopefully the weather will warm up again soon so that we can go back to our favorite park!

Mackenzie and the Circus

Last month, Mackenzie went to her first circus and LOVED it! Grammy was able to get us very special tickets in the Wachovia Suite, so we went in style! Everyone was able to go...Mom, Dad, Boo, Grammy, Dub, Aunt Cathy, Uncle Chris, Aunt Kristy, and Thomas! Mackenzie and Thomas had so much fun chasing each other all over the suite! The especially liked eating all the popcorn!

Diva Boo

Mackenzie is really into dress up play these days. Greg tried to get a picture of Diva Boo the other day, but she wasn't going to let it happen:) Oh well....

Play-doh

Mackenzie had a blast playing with Play-doh yesterday! I put her in her highchair with a thing of play-doh, a plastic knife and fork, and a cookie cutter and she went to town! She would "cut" the play-doh and then hold it up and say "what this mama?" She played with the play-doh for an hour, making all sorts of fun things:)

Boo loves her Charlie!

For those of you who don't know...I'm a HUGE Charlie Gibson fan! Boo and I used to watch him every morning on Good Morning America, and now we just get to see him on the evening news. Every night we turn on the nightly news, say "Hello" to Charlie and then turn it off (GMA was "safe" for a toddler to watch, but the nightly news is not very suitable). The other night, when the news came on, there was another person doing it. Without Greg or I saying anything, Boo said "uh-oh, where Charlie go!" This actually happened 2 nights in a row:) After the 2nd night we told her that we didn't know where Charlie was. She quickly jumped up on the couch and pointed to the picture on the mantel of me and Charlie. She then said "there mama and Charlie!"

OK...one more Charlie story......last night he came on tv to announce the State of the Union Address coming on...Boo got REALLY excited and started jumping up and down on the bed saying "there Charlie" over and over!

Daddy's Juice

UH-OH!! Look at what Boo did to Daddy's juice! She took the entire case of drinks out of the box, and then took every label off! She was very pleased with herself:) When I asked her what she was doing she said "uh-oh....boo mess!"

Playspace

Boo and I went to Playspace today with Skylar and Wendy. It was the first time the girls had seen each other in over a week, so they were very excited to see each other! As soon as we got there, Boo took off towards the water! She loves playing in the water with all the different toys....even though the smock is 4x her size, she still manages to stay pretty dry:) After exploring every station, we went to the art room to paint! Mackenzie had a blast....she didn't want to leave!

Snow Day!

Boo saw her first snow today! Because of all the red mud around (from all the construction going on) we didn't go outside...but brought the outside in:) I filled up a huge plastic bin with snow and put it on the kitchen floor for Boo to play with! Her first reaction was "oohh cold!" She then decided to taste the snow to which she said "uhmm good...I more!" She was covered by the time she was done playing!

Dress Up

Boo LOVES shoes! She has such a great time putting on everybody's shoes and "running" around in them. Today, she found these shoes in my closet and decided to play with them. She was so excited when she realized that these shoes make noise on the hardwood floor!

Lollipop

Boo has found out where Grandma hides her candy stash (what a smart little girl)! So, before we left their house, we let her have a lollipop that she found! She was so happy and did a great job sitting still while eating her special lollipop!

Uncle Chris and the park

Mackenzie, Grandpa, Uncle Chris, and Daddy all took a walk to the park in Grandpa and Grandma's neighborhood after opening Christmas presents. Daddy took a lot of pictures at the park, but this picture seemed to be the best! Boo sure likes to play with Uncle Chris!

Christmas #3

On the day after Christmas, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house to celebrate. Mackenzie was able to see her Uncle Chris, Aunt Jamie, and her new cousin Mia there too! After she helped Grandma pass out all the Christmas presents, Mackenzie took her seat in the big chair and started opening her gifts. Her favorite thing was the new doll house she opened! It had to come out of the box as soon as she unwrapped it!

Christmas #2

On Christmas day, we went to Grammy and Dub's house to celebrate. Aunt Cathy, Uncle Kyle, Aunt Kristy, Uncle Chris, Thomas, and Lulu were all there, so it was nice. Mackenzie loved playing with her new baby doll and kitchen set! She really enjoyed playing with the new bike Thomas got also:)

Christmas #1

When Boo woke up Christmas morning, she saw that Santa had come and left her many, many things! As a "tradition" in my family growing up, the first picture taken was of her sitting on the steps, waiting to see what Santa had brought...then it was a race to see how fast she could open her presents. She was very excited about her bike and her new train set!
