Mother's Day Tea Party with Lulu

We went to Lulu's nursing home for our annual Mother's Day Tea Party the Friday before Mother's Day. When Mom called to see if Lulu was up for going outside to the party, Lulu said no, that she wasn't up for it. However, as soon as Lulu saw Mackenzie and Zach in her room at the home, she was ready to get outside!!! Lulu hadn't seen Zach for a while, so she was really into watching him. The food this year was a huge tray of fruit with a few pastries. I served Zach a plate of fruit and gave him a fork and he went to town eating. I guess I wasn't refilling his plate fast enough, because the second all his fruit was gone, he stood up in his chair, reached across the table with his fork and started eating the strawberries right off the platter. I have to tell you, that when he did this, Lulu laughed harder than I had EVER heard her laugh before!!! After Lulu stopped laughing, she asked me when was the last time I had fed Zach!!! I had to then tell her that Zach eats all day long...he LOVES his food (and your food, and my food, and the guy across the way's food, the waiters food....you get my point!! The boy can eat)!!!!

Pictures from April and May

Zach is an outside boy for sure! If we let him, he would be out there all day! Here, he is having a blast in the Elmo sprinkler. Hopefully he will enjoy the pool as much as the sprinkler!

Going on an egg hunt....

This is what happens when I ask Greg to get Zach dressed!!! YIKES!!! No worries, he didn't leave the house like this:)

April and May have been very busy months for us! From soccer practice, school, play dates, choir and many other activities, we have been on the go a lot. The kids are both doing great and are really into their own things.

Choir

Mackenzie has been in choir at our church since January. Since she had never done something like this before, so we weren't sure how she would do, but it turns out that she LOVES it!!! She knows what day we go, and if for some reason we would have to miss choir, she would be mad...very mad. She talks about the choir director often and I have even caught her in her room lining up her stuffed animals acting as if she is the choir director and teaching her animals how to sing. She had her end of year performance a few weeks ago and did pretty good. I wasn't sure that she would sing in front of that many people, but she did...well, she sang about every third word...but that is good for it being her first performance!

Strawberry Picking Time

A few weeks ago, we took the kids to a local strawberry patch to pick strawberries. This was the first time for both of them, and they both loved it. As you can probably already guess, Zach ate his weight in strawberries while we were there. He got the concept of how to pick the berries, but didn't get the fact you were supposed to put them in the bucket:) He had a blast!!! Boo tried some while we were there too, but she was more into picking "just the right ones" and putting them in our bucket! They were so yummy!!!

Random Pictures of Zach

Zach loved the slide at Pullen Park! He must have gone down it 100 times before I was able to get him to move on to something else!

Playing with the phone! He loves this, whether it is the house phone or one of our cell phones. He is actually getting to the point when he "talks" to people. It is fun to watch:)

Driving in the Escalade....this is how he rides about 99% of the time. We are not sure if he is just being comfortable, or if he is holding on for dear life b/c of how Boo drives:)

Letters

Boo is really into doing "school work" and "homework" these days. She LOVES to do workbook pages, art projects, you name it...she loves it. She is doing a great job with writing her letters and actually making words. Here are 2 pictures of her first letters that she learned. I had hoped to take a picture of each letter as she learned to write them, but I couldn't keep up (I guess that is a good thing huh?)!

Hilton Head Vacation

The last week of March (yes, I'm very behind in blogging...) we spent a week in Hilton Head with Marie and Charlie. We all had a great time! It rained some, but we were still able to get out and do lots of fun things!

Boo having lunch at the Salty Dog Cafe

Going for a bike ride around Sea Pines

Zach's favorite thing to do in H.H.? Yep, that's right...pushing chairs around the tennis court!!

Our day trip to Savannah to eat at Paula Deen's restaurant The Lady and Sons. Here is Boo with Paula (if you look really close, you can tell it's not the real Paula :)!

Boo's Birthday

It is hard to believe that Mackenzie is 4 years old now!!! This was the first time that we had her party somewhere other than home, and she was really happy about it. The party was at Jumpin Beans and she invited all her friends and family. It was a great time for everyone!

Another busy couple of weeks!

Hair cut time! The picture above is the only picture Boo would let me take of her after her hair cut! Zach on the other hand, had no problems showing off his new do! I was so mad at myself, for forgetting the camera when I took them to get their hair cut. Zach did such as awesome job! He was eating up all the attention the hair cut lady was giving him:)

This week, Zach has discovered Boo's dress up stuff! He LOVES playing with these blue Cinderella shoes! I must say he does a nice job walking in them too:)

Zach posing for more pictures! He has done such a good job feeding himself with spoons and forks lately that I just had to "document" it with some pictures:) The pictures right above is when Zach was done posing...I guess he just wanted to finish his yogurt!

Can you tell how much Zach loves food! This boy can eat! Here he is doing his funny little evil laugh because he is eating cookies at dinner:)

There were not many pictures of Boo taken these last weeks. She is in a phase of not letting me take pictures. We do have a lot of video of her from soccer this week so we will try to get it uploaded here soon!

Starting now...Friday updates

I know many of you love to follow this blog and I'm sorry that I haven't been updating it very often. Between Boo going to school, soccer practice, and choir practice, on top of me watching a friends 6 month old daughter, and keeping Zach from breaking everything in sight, I have not had much down time. So I think the best way to keep the blog rolling is if I make 1 entry every week to let everyone know what is going on in our crazy world! So here goes....

This has been a great week for us! We have spent time outside playing everyday because of the warm weather. Wednesday was probably our best day! We went to Pullen Park and had a playdate with Mackenzie's best friend Skyler who we haven't seen in a long time! It was great. This was the first time that Zach was really into the park, and had no problems exploring it on his own. He LOVED the ducks...he just couldn't get enough of them! Mackenzie and Skyler had such a great time talking and playing together!

Thursday was a GREAT day (well, for me)! I was able to get Zach signed up for Mother's Morning Out next year for Monday's and Wednesdays. Aside for this helping him have an easier time getting into the preschool at this church ...I get 2 mornings to myself!! WOO HOO!!! Boo will be in school M/W/F next year at the same church!!

Mackenzie had soccer today, which she loves! We have even signed her up for the spring session b/c she loves it so much!

Here are a couple pictures from our week!

Big Ed's

After our camp out, we went to have breakfast at Big Ed's. It was the best way to end our night of fun:) That morning Zach ate 2 bowls of applesauce, a biscuit, some scrambled egg, a piece of honey dew, and some pancake! Now, do you see why he is such a big boy:)

The Great Camp Out

Last weekend, we had a camp out complete with tents, sleeping bags, and smores....all in our living room:) This all came about after a long conversation Marie and Mackenzie had about camping. Somehow, Boo "convinced" Marie that it would be ok to camp in the living room, so we did. Marie and Charlie came over Friday night with their tents and sleeping bags for a slumber party. We put up 3 tents in the living room and let the fun begin. We had beans and hot dogs for dinner, followed by smores. (And for the record, we had a great game of Trivial Pursuit that Marie and I won...BY A LAND SLIDE....I just needed to 'document' this because sometimes Greg and Charlie forget that they lost!) Zach slept in his room, Marie and Charlie in their tent, and Greg and Mackenzie in our tent. I slept on the couch because there was no room in the tent for me. Funny thing is, is that even though we were all inside...there was the sound of a mean snoring bear through out the camp site....wonder what that was:) HAHAHAH!

Soccer

Every Friday Mackenzie has soccer practice which she LOVES going too! We take her to an indoor field nearby, where she plays for about an hour. She does such a great job of listening to the coach and following directions. She does pretty well with all the different skills they are teaching her. The best part is that they only use about 1/4 of the soccer field, so the other part is open for Zach to play on:) We kick the ball to him and he runs all over the place chasing it. They actually have a class for 18 month olds, so pretty soon we are going to sign him up too:)

Here are a couple of pictures from soccer. They aren't the best pictures, but you can see how much fun Boo is having!
