Starting now...Friday updates
I know many of you love to follow this blog and I'm sorry that I haven't been updating it very often. Between Boo going to school, soccer practice, and choir practice, on top of me watching a friends 6 month old daughter, and keeping Zach from breaking everything in sight, I have not had much down time. So I think the best way to keep the blog rolling is if I make 1 entry every week to let everyone know what is going on in our crazy world! So here goes....
This has been a great week for us! We have spent time outside playing everyday because of the warm weather. Wednesday was probably our best day! We went to Pullen Park and had a playdate with Mackenzie's best friend Skyler who we haven't seen in a long time! It was great. This was the first time that Zach was really into the park, and had no problems exploring it on his own. He LOVED the ducks...he just couldn't get enough of them! Mackenzie and Skyler had such a great time talking and playing together!
Thursday was a GREAT day (well, for me)! I was able to get Zach signed up for Mother's Morning Out next year for Monday's and Wednesdays. Aside for this helping him have an easier time getting into the preschool at this church ...I get 2 mornings to myself!! WOO HOO!!! Boo will be in school M/W/F next year at the same church!!
Mackenzie had soccer today, which she loves! We have even signed her up for the spring session b/c she loves it so much!
Here are a couple pictures from our week!

Big Ed's
The Great Camp Out
Last weekend, we had a camp out complete with tents, sleeping bags, and smores....all in our living room:) This all came about after a long conversation Marie and Mackenzie had about camping. Somehow, Boo "convinced" Marie that it would be ok to camp in the living room, so we did. Marie and Charlie came over Friday night with their tents and sleeping bags for a slumber party. We put up 3 tents in the living room and let the fun begin. We had beans and hot dogs for dinner, followed by smores. (And for the record, we had a great game of Trivial Pursuit that Marie and I won...BY A LAND SLIDE....I just needed to 'document' this because sometimes Greg and Charlie forget that they lost!) Zach slept in his room, Marie and Charlie in their tent, and Greg and Mackenzie in our tent. I slept on the couch because there was no room in the tent for me. Funny thing is, is that even though we were all inside...there was the sound of a mean snoring bear through out the camp site....wonder what that was:) HAHAHAH!
Soccer
Every Friday Mackenzie has soccer practice which she LOVES going too! We take her to an indoor field nearby, where she plays for about an hour. She does such a great job of listening to the coach and following directions. She does pretty well with all the different skills they are teaching her. The best part is that they only use about 1/4 of the soccer field, so the other part is open for Zach to play on:) We kick the ball to him and he runs all over the place chasing it. They actually have a class for 18 month olds, so pretty soon we are going to sign him up too:)
Here are a couple of pictures from soccer. They aren't the best pictures, but you can see how much fun Boo is having!
SNOW!!!
On Jan. 20th, we had about 4-5 inches of snow here! It was great!! That morning I woke Mackenzie up and asked her to look out the window. When she saw all the snow she yelled!! She, then got kind of quiet and said "I guess I'll not be able to go to my school today because I won't be able to get there!" We then got Zach up and started getting dressed to go outside. Zach has a snow suit, but it was way to big, so Boo wore it, while Zach wore layer after layer. He really did look like the little boy from A Christmas Story!! Once outside, Mackenzie went right to work digging in the snow and making snow angels. Zach was a little hesitant at first, but quickly got into things. We ended up going outside 3 times that day. It was a lot of fun, but it would have been better if Greg hadn't been in California for work that day! The one time it snows enough to enjoy it, Greg is in sunny California in 70 degree weather:)
Boo and Santa
Boo did a great job seeing Santa this year! I really wish that we had had the video camera that day, because it was priceless watching her talk to him! She got right up on his lap and told him the only thing she wanted was a pink pack-n-play for her baby Honey. She then asked him if he would get Buddy some cars. I tried to get Zach to sit with Santa, but he was having no part of it! Maybe next year:)
Lets go back to Christmas!
Finally...a chance to update the blog! Things have been super busy for us lately with things like school, soccer practice, and choir practice....all for Mackenzie! Luckily for us, she loves it all and looks forward to each activity each week. Zach is staying busy doing his own thing. He is such a climber (totally opposite from Mackenzie), and loves to be on the go. Hopefully soon we will get him signed up for either soccer or a tumbling class...no doubt, he would love either one:)
So, now that I have a chance to update, we need to go back to Christmas:)
The kids loved Christmas this year! Mackenzie was really, really into opening the presents and did a great job helping Buddy (what she calls Zach). At one point, she got pretty sad and said to us "I guess Santa didn't hear my words, and didn't get me a pink pack-n-play for Honey (her baby doll)." I then showed her a present that she hadn't opened and told her that maybe she should open this one next. Well, she did and it was the pack-n-play she wanted!! She was SO excited! She even ran to the window, pulled back the blinds and started yelling "Thank you Santa!"
