Outside Time

We spent a good part of the day outside today playing with chalk, toys, and of course, the big red wagon:) Thomas mastered pushing the wagon around, while Mackenzie took a big interest in the chalk.....

Last Gymboree Class

Yesterday was our last Gymboree class for this session. We ended up going to the class in the morning instead of our regular night time class, so that Mackenzie could take Thomas with her:)
They had a blast together......well, almost together:) As soon as we got there Mackeznie took off in one direction, and Thomas went the other direction. Thank goodness Daddy was there....he stayed with Mackenzie while I played with Thomas! Every so often, they would see each other from across the room and "run" to each other showing what they had found. They both had so much fun:)

Mackenzie and her Target Turtle

Mackenzie's favorite part of our weekly visit to Target, is riding on a toy turtle! She loves this thing! As soon as she sees it, her whole body starts shaking with excitement, and she starts to squeal! We put her on it and push her around the toy section for a good while before we have to move on. When it is time to move on, we have to find something to lure her away with.....so far, giving her the car keys seems to work the best:)

Chicken Nuggets

The kids had Chick-Fla nuggets for the 1st time today for lunch! Mackenzie didn't care to much for them, but Thomas loved them! As soon as I put the nuggets on his tray, he would eat them up! Mackenzie seemed to have more fun dropping her nuggets on the floor:)

Mackenzie's 1st Frosty!

On the way to Gymboree last night, we stopped at Wendy's for a quick dinner. The nice man behind the counter loved Mackenzie! He talked with her and she seemed to "talk" back to him. Shortly after we sat down to eat, the nice man came over and asked if it would be ok for her to have some ice cream, so we said sure. He gave Mackenzie a small frosty for being so cute:) She took a couple of bites, and would shiver from the cold taste......we didn't give her very much, but she seemed to like it:)

New Foods

Over the past several days, Mackenzie has tried several new foods. At Thomas' party she tried a potato chip for the 1st time! She was so proud of herself when she ate it:) When she was done with it, she went back to eating her other food, so we aren't so sure that she really liked the chip. This morning for breakfast she had a mini waffle for the 1st time! She was shoveling it in her mouth just as fast as she could! When she finished what was on her tray, she did the sign for "more!"

Playing with ice

Mackenzie spent a lot of time during Thomas' birthday party playing with a tub of ice. She would lean over, pick up a piece of ice, study it, and then throw it down and start the process over. Before we left the party, she had to play with the ice one more time.....this time, she leaned over to far and almost fell in! Good thing Daddy was there:)

Special Birthday Treat!

Since Mackenzie had cake at her birthday party on Saturday, we wanted to give her a different treat on her birthday, so we gave her a popsicle! She loved the cold treat! She took it from my hand and wanted to do it all by herself....such the big girl:)

Sit-n-Spin

For Boo's birthday, Uncle Chris and Aunt Jamie bought her a toy that every child has too have....a Sit-N-Spin! We put it together yesterday and the kids were so excited! They are not able to do it by themselves, but with a little help they can! After many times around and around, Boo decided that SHE was going to work the Sit-N-Spin all by herself. She put her hand on the seat, and then crawled around and around in circles! We can't wait for Aunt Jamie to have a turn on her favorite toy:)

Happy 1st Birthday Mackenzie!

It's hard to believe that a year has already gone by! Boy, she sure has changed over the year!

Mall Time!

The kids has a blast at the mall yesterday with my friend Piper! After we all ate our lunch, since the food court area wasn't too busy (and I had Piper to help me) we let the kids walk around:) Thank goodness Piper was with me because "Double Trouble" (aka Thomas and Mackenzie) took off the second they got out of the stroller! Piper and Mackenzie went one way, while Thomas and I went the other! Thomas had his eyes on something right away....the riding toys! He spotted this bright orange space ship and tried so hard to climb in it. With a little help, he was soon in his space ship....

Look at me!

On Sunday, we spent part of the afternoon outside playing with some of Mackenzie's new birthday toys, including her favorite garden cart. We weren't outside for long, when she decided that her huge pink bouncy ball (also a favorite toy) needed to go inside her cart. All by herself, she put the ball in....when she got it in, she squealed with delight and called Dada to make sure he saw what she had done:)

Outside Play

Week of Feb. 27-March 3

Sorry for the delay of updating the blog, but we have had a very busy week getting ready for Mackenzie's 1st birthday party:)

There really isn't a whole lot to update everyone on....same ole' same ole' for us this week. We did make it to Story time at Pottery Barn Kids on Tuesday, for another fun time of stories and songs. They even had an art project for us to do this week, but we just watched instead of participating.....maybe next time:)

On Wednesday, we ventured out to the library to get more books. The kids love to pick out their own books (the key to this is to put the stroller right up against the shelf, and then they just pull something down)!

We litterally spent all day Thursday outside, only coming inside for lunch and nap time! Mackenzie and Thomas had fun playing in the sandbox----so far, neither of them has "tried" the sand yet:)! They also both discovered the driveway, and how it is much easier to walk on the driveway vs. the yard:)

As for "daycare" things are going well:) We have started working on using sign language and limiting passy time:) Both kids are doing great! The kids know that they have to leave their passy's in the bed or in their carseats....they are so proud of themselves when they leave their passy's in the right spot:) We have really been concentrating on the "more" sign, especially at meal times.....
